Belmont Abbey Crusaders fall to UNC Pembroke Braves in NCAA Division II baseball matchup

At 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, former Lake Norman High School athlete Hunter Sherrill and his college team, the Belmont Abbey Crusaders, suffered a 20-4 defeat against the UNC Pembroke Braves in an NCAA Division II baseball matchup.

The contest was held at Abbey Yard and marked the third meeting this season for the two squads. Earlier on Saturday, March 7, the Crusaders were edged out 6-5 by the Braves.

Pitching for the Crusaders, Sherrill surrendered three earned runs over 2.1 innings, with one walk and two strikeouts.

Belmont Abbey is next scheduled to play on Friday, March 13, at 3:30 p.m. at Ray and Bea Dillard Field against the North Greenville Crusaders.
