Cornelius Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
The Cornelius Police Department is now hiring a crossing guard to cover the crosswalk in front of Cornelius Elementary School, 21126 Catawba Ave.
The hours for the position are approximately 8:00 am to 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. when school is in session.
