County of Mecklenburg issued the following announcement on Sept. 25.

There are two confirmed human cases of the West Niles Virus in Mecklenburg County. 

The majority of people who become infected with the virus have no symptoms or mild, flu-like symptoms. 

About 20% will develop more severe symptoms.
