Eric Jacobsen’s Washington and Lee team falls to Averett Cougars 5-3

On Saturday, March 14, at 3 p.m., Eric Jacobsen, a former Lake Norman High School standout, and his current team at Washington and Lee fell to the Averett Cougars by a score of 5-3 in NCAA Division III baseball play.

Cap’n Dick Smith Field was the setting for this game. It marked their second meeting with the Cougars this season. Earlier on Saturday, March 14, the Generals secured an 8-6 victory over Averett.

Jacobsen pitched 1.1 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out two batters.

The Generals are set to play their next game against Bridgewater Eagles on Wednesday, March 18, at 5 p.m. at Cap’n Dick Smith Field.
