The Methodist Monarchs, with former Pine Lake Preparatory standout Michael Heis on the roster, were defeated 9-5 by the Keene State Owls in an NCAA Division III baseball contest played at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
Armstrong-Shelley Field served as the setting for this game, which was the third time the teams faced each other this season. In their previous meeting on Friday, Feb. 27, the Monarchs lost 7-3 to the Owls.
Heis pitched three innings, giving up one earned run and registering one walk.
The Monarchs are scheduled to face the Piedmont Lions at 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Loudermilk Field.
