The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is offering anyone in the agricultural industry online help to address coronavirus-related concerns.
“In the last week, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of calls from those in agriculture requiring assistance due to COVID-19,” Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler told Mooresville Tribune. “Agriculture is our state’s No. 1 industry and the spring planting season is critical to our farmers. It is critical that our industry be able to move amid the various travel restrictions. While we can’t solve all problems in these unprecedented times. Our employees will offer assistance where we can.”
Any concerns that online resources don't address can be answered through a hotline. Farmers, agribusiness operators and any others in the agricultural industry can call 1-866-747-9823 or email Covid19Questions@ncagr.gov. The hotline will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Mooresville Tribune.
