Ten Lake Norman region businesses were part of nearly 140 from North Carolina that Inc. named to its 2020 5,000 fastest-growing privately-held companies in the United States.
Collectively, the companies have $209.7 billion in revenue and have created more than 580,000 jobs, according to the Inc. website. When it comes to North Carolina businesses, those operations are responsible for approximately $4.8 billion in revenue and creating 13,111 jobs.
Companies that have made the list in the past include Patagonia, Zappos, Microsoft and Under Armour, Patch reported on Aug. 17. This year's list honors companies that have seen a 500% increase over the past three years.
"The companies on this year's Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business," Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk said in a news release, Patch reported. "From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism."
The 10 Lake Norman companies to make the list include: Powerhome Solar, Burn Boot Camp, Kryo, PeopleSuite Talent Solutions, 1st Choice Construction Management, LMK Clinical Research Consulting, Jackrabbit Technologies, Done Right Merchandising, Primoprint and Proforma Durkee.
