Lincoln County Solid Waste stickers are changing from bright green to blue on Oct. 15.
"The blue stickers with white letters are the new valid stickers and have been sent out in the 2020 Tax Bills.," Lincoln County said in an announcement.
A valid sticker is required to take garbage and recycling material to the county's seven convenience sites, the county said in the announcement. There is also a recycling center and residential waste drop-off site at the entrance of the landfill.
There are 800,000 trips to the sites annually, the county said in the announcement.
Residents can also pick up stickers at the Citizens Center in Lincolnton or the Solid Waste Office in Crouse.
"When picking up Residential Waste Stickers, please bring a form of identification and a registration for the vehicle the sticker is for to obtain a sticker," the county said in the announcement. "If your Lincoln County residency is not listed on your identification and registration then please also bring something with your name on it that states your Lincoln County address such as a rental agreement, proof of purchase, power bill, etc."
