EnergyUnited will provide more than $43,000 in Bright Ideas education funds to support engaging classroom learning projects.
The grants will go to 40 teachers in North Carolina, with eight going to educators in Davidson County, according to the EnergyUnited release about the financial awards.
Teachers at Oak Grove High School, Charles England Elementary, Churchland Elementary, South Davidson High, Silver Valley Elementary, Friedberg Elementary, The Brawley School and Pickett Elementary.
"EnergyUnited is very proud to support our educators' continued efforts to innovate in the classroom, whether in person or virtually, even as our communities respond to the many challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic," EnergyUnited Communications Manager Maureen Moore said in a November release.
The Bright Ideas grant plan began in 1994. Since that date, EnergyUnited has donated more than nearly $900,000 to teachers and other educators in the state.
"Investing in the education of our youth and future leaders is just one way in which EnergyUnited demonstrates its resounding commitment to community," Moore said in the press release.
