Town of Mooresville issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
The Howard brothers saw a need in their local community to be an example of change. These local teenagers realized the importance of having empathy first, so they can become more inclusive of others that are different. They have been an example for their community and school sports teams on how to embrace diversity & inclusion, instead of being afraid to have brave conversations.
How can you show more empathy and compassion for your neighbor today? As adults, we can learn from these young people on the value of courage, acceptance, and the power of positivity. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more information on our Community Conversation Events, hosted by the Mayor’s Diversity & Inclusion Taskforce volunteers. If you would like to share why embracing diversity and inclusion is important to you, please email us at diversitytaskforcemooresville@gmail.com.
