Town of Huntersville issued the following announcement on Sep 17.
According to NCDOT, they will begin construction next week on the interchange of I-77 and Gilead Road. Beginning phases include construction of a new bridge which will eventually become a diverging diamond interchange. This is a multi-year project with many phases. The contractor is not allowed to close or narrow a lane of traffic on Gilead Road, US 21 or Reese Boulevard during peak hours. We will continue to share information as it becomes available
