TOWN OF HUNTERSVILLE: New Traffic Pattern - Oaks at Mcilwaine

Trafficnight

Town of Huntersville issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.

At the request of the Oaks at Mcilwaine’s Homeowners Association (HOA), the Town of Huntersville’s Engineering Department has been working to increase the number of on-street parking spots and safe access of emergency vehicles within the community.  To accomplish this, Galashiels Dr and McDunkeld Dr will become One-Way Streets to allow residents to park on one side of the road while leaving the home fronts clear for postal, delivery and emergency services.  Gleen Oak Ln and several alleyways will also be altered to One-Way streets.

The Town’s Public Works Department will be installing new signage throughout the subdivision, as well as some new pavement markings.  The new signs will be covered until all have been placed.  We ask that residents be patient as our crews conduct the work and drive with care through the community.  The new traffic pattern will begin on January 26, 2022.  Please see the adjoining map (right-click to open in a new window/enlarge) illustrating the new pattern and if residents have questions, please contact your HOA management company at AMS@amshoa.com or 803-831-7023.

As a friendly reminder, the Town of Huntersville Code of Ordinances Part II Chapter 71 Section 71.02 “Parking prohibited in specific places” (14) On the side of a street facing in other than the direction of travel & (17) On a street or publicly maintained alley so as to leave available less than 12 feet of the width of the roadway or marked travel lane.  The full section can be found on the Town’s website under Government/Local Government/Code of Ordinances https://www.huntersville.org/772/Code-of-Ordinances.
