TROUTMAN POLICE DEPARTMENT: Driver's Reminder On Pedestrians Crosswalk

Pedestrian

Troutman Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 22.

The Police Department has received complaints of violations at the pedestrian crossing on Old Mountain Road near South Iredell High School. We want to remind drivers that state law requires them to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. We ask that drivers pay attention and be aware, especially during the hours when school is starting and letting out. Officers will be in the area conducting enforcement actions for violations and ensuring that students are able to cross safely.
