The Town of Davidson invites everyone to the final interactive public input session regarding LiveDavidson, Davidson’s new Affordable Housing Plan. We’re here to listen, and value your opinion regarding housing affordability in Davidson. OnPointe Partners, the Consultancy and Project Team who are developing LiveDavidson, will give a presentation which will include the results of recent public engagement efforts and a summary of final recommendations. Stick around afterward for smaller group discussions where we hope to answer all questions and concerns you might have as a resident of Davidson. Light refreshments will be provided.
“Participation from the public has been a key component throughout the process of developing our Affordable Housing Plan, and we hope to see many of our residents back out for this final community meeting,” said Davidson’s Housing and Equity Director Eugene Bradley.
WHY HOUSING AFFORDABILITY
Currently, Davidson is one of the most expensive places to live in the state, and it is anticipated that real estate prices and rent will continue to increase in the foreseeable future. The Davidson Board of Commissioners has charged OnPointe Partners with helping to develop a plan that provides comprehensive and alternative recommendations for producing new and preserving existing affordable homes. The plan will also include recommendations for targeted regulatory changes, purposeful infrastructure investments, and strategic ways to spend the housing fund, known as payment in lieu. The plan will identify new funding sources as well as other tools to increase affordable housing.
