According to HouseLogic.com, property owners should use this time to remove dead grass, reseed and compost the soil, and weed their lawn to protect it from harmful plants encroaching. It is also recommended owners fertilize the soil at this time of year and repair any bald patches that may have appeared during the summer.
“As part of fall clean-up, being in the south is actually our fescue to seed and to get in the fall,” Dori Rice, Owner of Ace Hardware & Garden Center (North Carolina) at 20510 N Main St, Cornelius, said in an interview with East Lake Norman News. “So grass is certainly something that we'd help to get back together and fertilize. We certainly do work hard on our lawns.”
