Town of Cornelius Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 29.

The 40th Annual North Mecklenburg Holiday Parade will be held this Saturday, December 3rd at 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. The parade will impact access to Hwy 115 through Cornelius and other nearby streets between approximately 12:30 – 4:00 p.m.

The parade route will begin on Main Street at Griffith Street in Davidson and will continue south on Hwy 115 through Cornelius and will end at Catawba Avenue and Hwy 115 at the entrance to Antiquity. The roadway for the parade route will be closed from 1:00 p.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. Additionally, Catawba Avenue will be closed from Oak Street to Hwy 115 and tractor trailers will not be permitted east of Hwy 21 after 12:30 p.m.

The Antiquity neighborhood will be impacted with road closures at the Catawba Ave. entrance. Hickory St. and South St. will remain open for residents to access the community.
