TOWN OF DAVIDSON: CLT Water Closing South Street

0Comments

Town of Davidson issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.

CLT Water and contractor, Propst Construction, will close South Street from Cathey Street to Mimosa Street from late August to early October. During this time, there will be no parking along both sides of Walnut Street from 7am – 5pm. The intersection at Spring Street and South Street will be closed. Those traveling in the area are advised to observe all posted traffic signage and consider alternate routes. Please see  larger version of detailed detour map below.

This wastewater project is to ensure ongoing service for our customers in Davidson. The project route begins near the Davidson K-8 School and will end near the Hillside Dr. and Lorimer Rd. intersection.

Parents and families of Davidson K-8 will receive further information related to this project from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and the School Resource Officer. Families are asked to carpool as much as possible with neighbors to reduce car traffic, and those who are able are encouraged to walk or bike to school.

All Davidson residents are encouraged to consider alternate routes to avoid the area, especially during peak school traffic hours from 7:30am-8:30am and 3:00pm-4:00pm.

For more information, please visit the project page on the CLT Water website.  To receive project updates and traffic impacts, text DAVIDSONPROJECT to 833-358-1988. Questions and concerns may be directed to Stephen Scott, CLT Water Project Manager at 980-219-9488 or Stephen.Scott@charlottenc.gov.
