Town of Mooresville Fire Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 7.

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 6. 

Mooresville Fire-Rescue reminds you to change your clocks and your smoke detector batteries. Working smoke detectors help save lives and homes!

The National Fire Protection Association says nearly three out of five home fire deaths were caused by fires in homes with no smoke alarms (41%) or smoke alarms that failed to work (16%).

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates an annual average of 362,000 unintentional residential fires. 

They’ve led to 2,400 deaths and 10,400 injuries from 2016 through 2018.
