Dr. Watts recently received her Doctorate of Education degree in Community Care and Counseling with a focus in Traumatology from Liberty University. She also holds the mental health licensures of QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Along with playing a vital role at MPD as the Training & Recruiting Officer in MPD’s Administrative Division, Dr. Watts has worked with the Mecklenburg County Mobile Crisis Team for over 10 years, responding to mental health, substance abuse, and crisis calls within the community setting. She has also worked in group homes, psychiatric hospital settings, and wilderness residential treatment facilities for at-risk youth.

If this wasn’t enough to keep her busy, she is also a licensed foster parent and has fostered many youth in the past seven years.
