Troutman Police Department issued the following announcement on Mar. 4.

We want to thank the Public Works Department for installing warning signs in the middle of several crosswalks today. We hope that these signs will make drivers more aware and allow pedestrians to cross safely. As a reminder drivers must stop for a pedestrian to cross, whether they are already crossing or waiting on the side of the roadway to cross.
