Whiteford, Taylor & Preston recently pushed a lawsuit in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, which followed the crippling spinal cord injury of a promising Davidson Day School senior.

The student is an Iredell County resident who enjoys playing lacrosse at his school.

The injury happened on May 10, 2019, during an intense lacrosse game and it left the student permanently disabled.

According to reports, the complaint claims that the injury was the result of the failure to educate students on the school's safety equipment. The suit claims Davidson Day School failed to instruct the students in proper safety techniques. The suit said proper instruction would have informed players how to properly protect themselves from head and neck injuries.

The Whiteford litigation is led by lawyers Erik Bolog, Allen Foster and Eric Rowe. Reports say Foster was once a candidate for North Carolina's State Attorney General. The Davidson School hasn't reached out for comment at this time.
