Town of Davidson issued the following announcement on Aug. 4.
The Annual LKN Fondo Charity Bike Event will be held on Sunday, August 14. Three rides will be offered, all starting at 7:30 a.m.: 30-miles, 50-miles, and 75-miles. The rides will originate on Lorimer Road near the town green and head east out of town on Davidson-Concord Road (see map links below). Organizers anticipate approximately 500 participants so please exercise caution when traveling around town.
Street Closures:
Residents, please be aware that Lorimer Road will be closed from the CVS parking lot to Davidson-Concord Road from Saturday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, August 14 at 4:00 p.m. The bike event and after party will take place during the day on Sunday, August 14. All bike riders are asked to park in the public lots along Jackson Street. Downtown parking for Sunday church services may be impacted by this event.

Gospelfest will also take place on Sunday, August 14 at 6:00 p.m. The Lake Norman Fondo event will have concluded by then, but the town requests that concert goers please not set up chairs and tents until after 4:00 p.m. so that event organizers have the needed time to clean up and restore the green to its pre-event condition.
