Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, North Carolina, has revised its visitor guidelines due to an increase in flu and other respiratory illnesses in Iredell County and the greater Lake Norman area. The updated guidelines include several safety measures aimed at protecting patients, visitors, and staff.

The medical center now recommends that all individuals within the hospital wear masks. Additionally, the number of visitors is limited to two per patient. Visitors under 12 years old are generally not allowed in inpatient units unless a special circumstance is approved by the patient's care team. Exceptions to this rule may be made for siblings visiting The Stork’s Landing Maternity Center and for patients receiving end-of-life care.

Furthermore, individuals exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat are advised against visiting patients until their symptoms have resolved.
